Background: A nurse in carrying out nursing measures is not independent of the standard of operational procedures that have been established to maintain the quality of the care service to the patient. One of the nurses in the administration of chemotherapy to cancer patients is carried out by the nurse, which can have an impact if negligence or error occurs. This can be prevented through the supervision of the head nurse with optimally. 

Objective : to determine the relationship between the perceptions of nurses regarding the supervision of head nurses and the implementation of Standard Operational Procedures for chemotherapy administration.

Methods : Research with a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 81 nurses and 5 head nurses.

Results: The observation results of the head nurse's supervision activities regarding the implementation of Standard Operational Procedures show that 87.8% is good, while the remaining 12.2% is not good. Meanwhile, the perception of nurses about the head nurse supervision is 42% good, with the remaining 58% not good. The relationship between nurses' perceptions of the head nurse supervision and the implementation of Standard Operational Procedures for chemotherapy is 92.6% good, while the remaining 7.4% is not good. The research findings indicated that there was no significant relationship between nurses' perceptions of the head nurse supervision and the implementation of Standard Operational  Procedures for chemotherapy (p= 0.203).

Conclusion: This research may improve to implementation Standard Operational Procedures for chemotherapy should focus on enhancing head nurse supervision in a planned and scheduled manner, along with the addition of equipment facilities and continuous training.
